Installing and Painting Crown Moulding

Court-Hampton Painting is now installing and painting crown moulding as a new service to our Toronto customers.

We have hired an expert carpenter and have been installing and painting crown moulding in this Etobicoke home.

It made sense for us and our customers to start installing wood crown moulding. This way we have control and responsibility of the entire project, from carpentry to wood filling and caulking and of course painting of the entire room. It was discouraging in the past for us to have to put a hold on a paint job because the carpenter hired by the customer had an erratic schedule. Now there is no down time and our painting company can have excellent quality control of the crown moulding being installed and painted. This particular crown moulding was bought at Home Depot.

When installing and painting crown moulding we first cut the moulding with a fine finish blade on a mitre saw. Then our carpenter puts a construction adhesive on the back of the crown moulding being installed. This is significant because if the adhesive step is skipped your crown moulding will likely show cracks in the caulking as finish nails are not enough to hold up the crown over time.
The next step is to nail up the crown moulding with adhesive applied, fill all nail holes twice and sand, caulk and paint the crown moulding along with the entire ceiling.
