In the first of many colour reviews to come, Court-Hampton Painting will be reviewing Studio Green by Farrow and Ball.

On an exterior this colour adds a lot of depth! Our advice when using such a bold colour is to make sure your surface has form. What do we mean by form? Make sure your surface has some intricate architecture to make the boldest statement you can with Studio Green. Don’t get us wrong you can paint flat surfaces with this colour and still get a lot of colour punch but it really makes your architecture stand out!

The windows themselves on this paint job at Yonge and Lawrence in Toronto were factory finished so we painted the window frames, soffit and fascia in Studio Green. For the Tudor part we painted the wood boards and dental in Farrow &Ball Studio Green, then colour matched the taupe stucco paint to the factory window colour. Farrow & Ball Studio Green is a beautiful colour for exterior painting projects. This colour lightens in the sun without losing it’s depth. It is a really fantastic colour if you have the architecture! It is also the paint colour Farrow and Ball used on the exterior of its first studio in England.

So how does Farrow & Ball Studio Green look on an interior painting project?

For interiors this colour is a statement piece! It is almost a black green that is great for a feature wall. It has a masculine vibe when painting an entire room that makes most furniture and moldings pop. It is a modern take on a certain green that was popular in the eighties.

In conclusion we love this colour especially when applied to great architecture. Great job Farrow and Ball! Learn more about painting with Farrow & Ball.
